Officials at the Pentagon will outline new policies for its millions of service members and other personnel on recruiting, harassment, and other policy issues in the wake of the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell."

The training will take place over the course of three months and will involve troops, commanders, and key administrators, the Associated Press reports. The plan, which is not completely finalized, will be released Friday.

President Barack Obama assured Americans during his State of the Union address Tuesday that the full integration of gay troops wishing to serve and already serving will take place this year. Obama signed legislation in December to repeal the ban on out gays and lesbians, after a yearlong battle in Congress to overturn the 17-year-old law.
