A Ugandan lesbian who was granted a temporary reprieve from deportation back to her home country will argue her case for asylum Monday before a British court.
Brenda Namigadde, 29, was scheduled to be deported last week but was taken off a plane departing London's Heathrow Airport at the last minute when officials granted her the temporary reprieve.
"It's really very scary to go back to Uganda," Namigadde toldThe Advocate last week. "My life is gone as well. I am in danger."
British officials have thus far refused to grant asylum to Namigadde, saying there is insufficient evidence that she is a lesbian.
