Utah state senator Pat Jones disappointed LGBT voters when she went
with the majority in deciding to table a bill allowing second-parent
adoption, a process often used by same-sex couples, saying she lives in a conservative part of the state and has
to represent her constituents.
After telling a man who passionately advocates on behalf of gay and lesbian parents that she wishes "I were your senator," she goes on to say she personally believes marriage should be between one man and one woman and "traditional families" are the "optimum" for raising families.
