Protestors flocked to Houston on Saturday to raise their voices against Exodus International's Love Won Out conference, an event that aims to teach people about resisting sexual temptations for others of the same sex.

According to the Houston Chronicle, about 450 people attended the conference at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, while dozens of protesters were outside to counter the event. Also, as previously reported, an airplane with a huge banner reading, "You Can't Pray Away The Gay: It Gets Better" flew overhead.

Wayne Besen, the founder of a counter organization, Truth Wins Out, led the protestors, and said he was deliberately harassed and ticketed for jaywalking by a police officer. He told the Chronicle that Exodus's conferences do more harm than good.

"They present it to be a miserable life that is either going to end in death or loneliness or unhappiness and that's not true," he said. "You are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own facts."
