The city of West Hollywood will celebrate go-go dancers and offer their fans free HIV testing, courtesy of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF).
West Hollywood has named Saturday, October 29 as "Go-Go Dancer Appreciation Day," and to celebrate "everything they have done for the gay community and its bar patrons over the last several decades." In conjunction, AHF will conduct free HIV testing in their van the same day at the intersection of Larrabee Street and Santa Monica Boulevard, and again on December 11 at the same location for the foundation's annual Toy Box Party.
Adding to the spirit of the event, Los Angeles's LGBT publication Frontiers magazine has launched a "Reader's Choice" competition and will offer winner the opportunity to appear on an upcoming cover. To vote for your favorite L.A. go-go dancer, click here.
