Lovett tied the knot with Ari Schwartz over Memorial Day weekend in Santa Barbara, California, according to reports from People and social media posts shared by guests who attended the celebration.
The wedding was a crossover moment for queer media, politics, and internet culture, drawing congratulations from a who’s who of Democratic and LGBTQ+ circles, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Monica Lewinsky, Chris Hayes, and actor Josh Gad.

Photos and videos posted online showed the couple smiling as they danced through a packed celebration on the packed dance floor, including a traditional chair lift during the reception. Guests also described a wedding weekend filled with comedy bits, roasts, and a rehearsal dinner staged like a variety show — a fittingly theatrical touch for Lovett, whose sharp humor has become central to Crooked Media’s political brand and his podcast Lovett or Leave It.
Lovett and Schwartz first publicly confirmed their relationship in 2024 and announced their engagement last year. Schwartz, who joined Crooked Media in 2021, currently serves as the company’s chief of staff.
The marriage marks Lovett’s first wedding. He was previously engaged to journalist Ronan Farrow before the pair split in 2023.
Before his media career, Lovett worked as a speechwriter for former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when she was a U.S. senator. He later co-founded Crooked Media alongside former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Dan Pfeifer, and Tommy Vietor, helping turn Pod Save America into one of the country’s most influential political podcasts.
