Meet the 15 LGBT Congressional Candidates
This November, LGBT Americans will cast their votes on some enormous issues. With bathroom bills and large-scale discrimination protections on the line, this may be the most important election year to date for queer Americans. Luckily, there are 15 out candidates running for election to Congress this year (or, for six of them, reelection), and hundreds more running for smaller offices. Jim Gray and Misty Snow could possibly join Tammy Baldwin as the second and third out members of the Senate, with Snow being the first openly trans senator. In the House, all the LGBT members are up for reelection this year. Meet 15 LGBT politicians who want to change America for the better and, above all else, don’t forget to vote.
Editor's Note: All members of this list have won a major-party primary. Candidates such as Brady Walkinshaw, Joe McDermott, and Shawn O’Connor have not yet participated in their states’ primaries, or run as third-party candidates.
