Sarah Palin: Lena Dunham Is a 'Pedophile,' as Perverted as Josh Duggar

The former vice-presidential candidate attacked the Girls star on Facebook in response to the media attention over the 19 Kids and Counting controversy.

Sarah Palin believes Lena Dunham is in the same league as Josh Duggar, the 19 Kids and Counting star who admitted molesting five girls, including four of his sisters.

Palin ignited a firestorm with the following post (which linked to a blog article written by her daughter, Bristol, about the same subject):

"HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE'S SEXUAL 'EXPERIMENTS' AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU PEDOPHILE, YOU"

After all the all-caps screed, Palin wrote, "Radical liberals in media who have total control over public narratives are disgusting hypocrites, so says my daughter. Go get 'em, Bristol! Read her post!"

In her memoir, Not That Kind of Girl, Dunham described that, as a 7-year-old girl, she kissed her sister and touched her vagina. Duggar, on the other hand, was 14 and 15 when he repeatedly groped multiple young girls over and under their clothing.

"The double standards make me sick," Bristol wrote in her own post. "Josh Duggar touched a sleeping girls breast - a terrible thing to go. But now their ENTIRE family is punished and their hit show is canceled? He's labeled as a pedophile? His family is crucified! Liberals in today's media can do no wrong, while conservatives can do no right."

As Salon points out, the elder Palin has a habit of screaming "left-wing conspiracy" whenever someone on the right is caught doing something unsavory. The fact that Fox News conducted an interview with the anti-LGBT Duggar parents -- who allegedly hid the abuse until the statue of limitations on prosecution expired -- after the story broke, conflicts with Palin's claim that liberals dictate the "public narrative."

The Duggars are facing intense scrutiny for how they handled their son's behavior. The future of their popular TLC show remains in the air.
