Following the tragic event in Orlando, this year's TrevorLive gala in New York was an emotional affair. The Trevor Project event, held Monday at Manhattan's Marriott Marquis, brought together celebrities, activists, and community members to honor the 49 people killed at Florida's Pulse nightclub, a gay bar that was the scene of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
“I knew it was important that we would be here tonight — it is so important that we are all here — our youth need to know we are here for them,” said Abbe Land, CEO of the LGBTQ youth organization. “It is so important for them to see us celebrate with our heads held high and be strong.”
