Palm Springs Considers Senior Home Next to Gay Nude Resort

CANYON CLUB HOTEL WEBGRAB X390

The Palm Springs Architectural Advisory Committee recommended plans Monday to build an assisted living facility next door to the Canyon Club Hotel, one of the Southern California city's gay-owned and -operated clothing-optional resorts.

According to the Mercury-News,developers with Tappan Enterprises say they hope to break ground this year on the 190-bed facility. The building will include a public beauty parlor and day spa.

The three-story project will be next to the nude resort, but developers say palm trees will block the view into the hotel’s pool area.

The building of an assisted living facility for lgbt seniors is big enough news in my opinion. No need to hype it up with racy headlines about being next to a nude resort. Seniors, especially lgbt seniors, need care when they age. They're so much less likely than str8s to have a child or partner as a care-giver when they get to their golden years and need help. Have you hugged, spoken to, spoken of, advocated for, or given any attention whatsoever to an lgbt senior today?? Well, what are you waiting for? You'll be one too, some day, and hopefully, someone will pay attention to your needs. Do unto others . . . Oh, wait. That would require a selfless and compassionate person. There are even fewer of those around than assisted living facilities for lgbts!

An assisted living facility in Palm Springs sounds great to me, and next door to a gay-owned and operated clothing optional resort is frosting on the cake. I agree with Richard to forget the palm trees.

No problem, people who will be in the Assisted Living Area in Palm Springs are Sophisticated and willing to let people be who they are.

Palm tree, huh? I think what's more likely to happen is that the residents, who will be paying big bucks, will complain to the city council, which could force the resort out of business. This is either very bad planning, or very careful planning on someone's part.
