Variety reports that a proposed revival of Gore Vidals 1957 play Visit to a Small Planet will be getting an all-star send-off at a new script reading this week. The gay playwright has revised, updated, and edited the play, and out actors Lily Tomlin (as General Tom Powers) and Alan Cumming are among the stars who will participate in the script reading in New York City through March 11. Also participating are Christine Baranski, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony Randall, and Philip Bosco. The reading is produced by Jeffrey Richards, Michael B. Rothfeld, and Raymond J. Greenwald, the producers behind last years revival of Vidals The Best Man.
