BBC News reports that Will Young, the winner of the U.K. talent search Pop Idol who came out earlier this month, remained at the top of the charts for a third week with his double A-sided single "Anything Is Possible" / "Evergreen." Observers were paying close attention to this week's charts to see if Young's coming-out would affect sales of the single. It is expected that Young will be knocked out of the top slot by his Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates, whose debut single, a cover of "Unchained Melody," goes on sale Monday in the United Kingdom.
