Almodóvar picks today's sexiest stars

Who are today's sexiest stars? The New York Daily News's Daily Dish asked Pedro Almodóvar, whose taste in hotties is well-established. After all, he launched the careers of sexy Spaniards Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz.

"Brittany Murphy is at the top of the list for my sexy dream cast," he told the News. "She has that '50s bad-girl glamour. And I also like Julianne Moore."

As for the boys, he nominated Gael Garcia Bernal, the Mexican heartthrob who spiced up the screen in Y Tu Mamá También and El Crimen del Padre Amaro.

Other heavenly creatures on Almodóvar's list include "Susan Sarandon, George Clooney (but the George Clooney of today, not when he was in ER), Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal. And Billy Bob Thornton, Sean Penn, and Chloe Sevigny."

He also nominated French actors Vincent (Brotherhood of the Wolf) Cassel and Benoît (The Piano Teacher) Magimel.
