Six Feet Under, the delectable HBO series about the gay and straight goings-on in a family-run Los Angeles funeral home, led the pack with 16 nods as the 2003 Emmy award nominations were announced on Thursday in Los Angeles. RuPaul to play tranny nanny?
Variety reports that UPN has ordered a script that would cast cross-dressing superstar RuPaul as a transvestite nanny in a show that is tentatively titled The Tranny. Big Ticket Entertainment will produce the pilot from writer–executive producer Mort Nathan, whose credits include The Golden Girls, Benson, and the short-lived Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer. RuPaul would star as a transvestite wanna-be entertainer who takes the nanny job to pay the bills. His character would be the most down-to-earth of a wildly dysfunctional family.
