No stranger to antigay tweets, 50 Cent has posted a particularly ill-timed message on his Twitter page, suggesting that any man who isn’t into women should kill himself right now.
“If you a man and your over 25 and you don’t eat pu**y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol.”
The tweet didn't go unnoticed in gay media or among gay youth advocates grappling with recent suicides nationwide, many the result of antigay bullying.
Now the hip-hop star claims there was no antigay sentiment intended. In a serious of follow-up tweets, 50 Cent wrote:
The
other night I made a joke about a blow job. My male followers enjoyed
it. So I then went on to joke about women receiving the same. Some how
they turned a simple joke about oral sex into a anti gay statement. I
have nothing against people who choose an alternative lifestyle in fact
i've publicly stated my mom loved women. Its funny how people think
negative statements are news worthy but positive statements are not
worthy of coverage
