Two Iranian soccer players who used "inappropriate" behavior to celebrate during a nationally televised game on Saturday may face lashings and imprisonment.
During Saturday's game, Mohammad Nosrati pressed his hand into Persepolis teammate Sheys Rezaei's rear. The grab was in reaction to one of their other teammates making the winning goal of a game, ending the team's losing streak, according to the Washington Post.
Both players were immediately suspended, and fined approximately $40,000 each. Rezaei and Nosrati's display could be construed as a violation of public chastity, punishable by two months in prison and a public 74-strike lashing, taking place in the same soccer arena where the situation occurred.
