This annual event functions as a wild sidebar to Art Basel Miami and happens at Miami Beach's most fabulous gay hotel, Hotel Gaythering.

The rascally rabbit Alex Guerra, the creative force behind Art Gaysel and Hotel Gaythering in Miami Beach, is hosting Art Gaysel in the hotel for the third year now.

Alex connected with us to say, "This will be my third year curating the show, and I'm excited that some of your featured artists will not only be showing but they will be present at the five-day mini fair. Four of the artists I'm actually flying down from Spain: @eldibujo, @paskrod, @bransolo, and @franmunyoz. I know you had an article recently featuring Pascual Rodriguez drawings.

"The group show is held in our 'Library' and generally consists of 13 queer artists which I have hand-selected from Instagram, showing three-five pieces of work. So far we have 16 artists with a potential of a couple more. This year we decided to test out a larger format, and we will have 10 of the artists sleeping and exhibiting from eight of our hotel rooms, one of the rooms being a pop-up shop from P-town called Adam's Nest (@adamsnest) which features queer art, goods, and apparel.

"Other artists participating in the show are @naruki, @nadav_gazit, @jeremylucido, @matteattack, @jonathan_kent_adams, and more.

"I also want to highlight that we have incorporated a People of Color exhibit focusing on black queer artists and themes. Participating in this aspect of the show are @depaulvera, an amazing digital artist with racially charged digital collages. He will be a highlight in the show. The other artist participating in the POC theme of the show is @derickwhitson, a Columbia University graduate in fine arts whose work is a mix of self-portraiture and portraiture in the realm of counterculture clowns."

For more information check out the Facebook page. Hotel Gaythering is Miami Beach's only gay hotel. It is located in South Beach where prestigious Lincoln Road meets the bay.
