In celebration of Pride Month, Artsy - the leading global online art marketplace - is hosting a benefit auction to support the Tom of Finland Foundation, an nonprofit organization that serves to protect, preserve and promote erotic art and artists in the LGBTQIA+ community.
The auction titled, "Sexology 101," will run from May 28 - June 11, and will feature a selection of erotica-themed works curated by Brooke Wise. Collectors and art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to bid on works from artists including Gus Van Sant, Kent Monkman, Chloe Wise, Ruby Neri, and more. Proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Tom of Finland Foundation.
In addition to the benefit auction, Artsy will also be launching an online group show titled "Expressions of Pride" on June 7, featuring a selection of self-portraits by LGBTQ+ artists. This show will also be extended to Artsy's partnership with OUTFRONT Media's MOMENT by OUTFRONT, where a some of the self-portraits alongside a quote from the artist will be featured on digital displays in transit systems across the US.
