Want to topple the patriarchy? Just be creative.

Jill Soloway advised female artists to create as much art as possible at the Outfest Legacy Awards, where the Transparent creator was given the Visionary Award for her contributions to LGBT media visibility.

Soloway was honored alongside the television network Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, for programming like The Fosters and Pretty Little Liars. The Los Angeles event on October 23 also featured a memorable speech from Sean Hayes, who apologized for not coming out sooner when he accepted the Trailblazer Award.
