Elton calls Madonna's Bond theme "the worst"

"It is the worst Bond tune of all time," says Sir Elton John, as quoted in the British Sun tabloid, describing Madonna's single "Die Another Day" from the James Bond film of the same name. John reportedly insists that movie bosses on the Pierce Brosnan blockbuster would have been better off asking Shirley Bassey or Elton himself to perform the single. "It hasn't got a tune," John complains in the tabloid interview. "James Bond themes are usually very camp, and this one's different. They should have gone for somebody like Lulu and Shirley Bassey, or maybe I'm in that league. I don't think it's the best Madonna record, and I'm a big fan."
