Wolfe Video enters theatrical arena

Wolfe Video, a gay and lesbian specialty home video retailer, is entering the theatrical distribution ring with a rollout of writer-helmer Marco Filiberti's Poco piu di un anno fa (A Little More Than a Year Ago) in more than 20 markets early in 2004. Wolfe has also acquired all domestic rights to writer-director Brad Fraser's feature helming debut, Leaving Metropolis. Both films are slated to screen at the upcoming Outfest, which kicks off Thursday in Los Angeles. Year follows Filiberti as a well-known Italian gay porn star who attends the funeral of his affluent father and rekindles a relationship with his estranged brother. It will likely be distributed under a different title, said Orly Ravid, a consultant heading Wolfe's initial theatrical distribution efforts. Metropolis centers on a successful artist hunting for his lost muse by masquerading as a waiter.
