Daniel Brewster, the Gruner + Jahr executive fired in the wake of the company's court case with Rosie O'Donnell, is now suing G+J himself. Brewster, the company's former president and CEO, claims now that he was unfairly blamed for deceptions in reporting circulation numbers that surfaced during the multimillion-dollar lawsuit in which G+J sued O'Donnell for walking away from Rosie magazine and O'Donnell countersued the publisher. The New York Daily News's Rush and Molloy reported Thursday that Brewster wants enforcement of a "nondisparagement" clause of his G+J contract. He also wants the court to order G+J executives to preserve a report they commissioned after the trial to investigate whether the company had fudged the numbers on Rosie's newsstand sales. He claims the report would exonerate him.
