Variety reports that Hugh Jackman will star in a new Walt Disney Pictures musical for gay producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Chicago). If You Could See Me Now, based on the novel by Cecelia Ahern, concerns a lonely 6-year-old boy who conjures an imaginary friend (Jackman) after being abandoned by his mother. The boy's aunt raises the child and falls in love with the imaginary friend, whom she can also see. Disney-owned Hyperion will publish the novel in early 2006; no screenwriter or songwriter has been attached to the project.
