reports that out actor Alan Cumming will appear alongside
Jim Dale, Edie Falco, and Nellie McKay in a new Broadway
production of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny
Opera. This version, featuring a new adaptation of
the text by Wallace Shawn, will open at Studio 54 on
April 20. Cumming will play the lead role of Macheath,
and Isaac Mizrahi will provide costumes, a task he is also
fulfilling for the upcoming Broadway revival of Barefoot
in the Park.
