The Agenda With Joe Solmonese, a new talk show
focusing on gay and lesbian equality hosted by Human
Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese, will premiere
July 17 from Washington, D.C., on XM Satellite Radio.
The show will feature an open forum of politics,
entertainment, and cultural news combined with guest
interviews and listener call-ins.
"This is a unique
opportunity to engage millions of Americans in a real
conversation about what it means to be gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgender today," said Solmonese. "Our
goal has always been to engage more Americans in a
dialogue about fairness and equality, and XM's more
than 6.5 million subscribers give us an incredible reach
into rural as well as urban American homes and cars."
Future broadcasts
will include guests Cyndi Lauper, George Takei,
Democratic senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Republican
senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, and Episcopal
bishop Gene Robinson. The Agenda will air live on XM
LIVE channel 200 in its regular weekly time slot,
Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (The Advocate)
