The Wiz will return to the stage in the first
            high-profile revival of the original Broadway musical since
            1984. The       show will be performed at the La Jolla
            [Calif.] Playhouse, beginning       previews on September
            26. A 1975 African-American adaptation of The Wizard of
            Oz, the musical will star       David Alan Grier in
            the title role and Wayne Brady as the scarecrow.       Nikki
            M. James (All Shook Up) has been cast as
            Dorothy. The show will be led by director Des McAnuff, who
            directed last       season's Tony winner Jersey Boys.

        Global pop star Demi Lovato will perform at the 37th annual GLAAD Media Awards on March 5 in Los Angeles, with actor and producer Jonathan Bennett returning to host a ceremony that will stream exclusively on Hulu later this month, GLAAD announced Monday. The event will spotlight LGBTQ+ representation across film, television, music, and journalism. The Advocate, along with its sister publication, Out, is among the nominees for Outstanding Magazine.
