Little Miss Sunshine directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are in talks with Warner Independent Pictures to adapt a novel about a high school sex education teacher who preaches the importance of abstinence, according to Variety. The novel The Abstinence Teacher, which is to be released in 2007,is by Tom Perrotta, who is slated to pen the screenplay.

The project would reunite the directors and Albert Berger and Ron Yerba of Bona Fide Productions according to the article. The producers have worked with Perrotta in the past with the films Election and Little Children. (The Advocate)
