Out screenwriter John Logan will team up with Martin Scorsese and producer Graham King for a film based on a best-selling children's novel. King's Initial Entertainment Group has acquired the rights for The Invention of Hugo Cabret, according to Variety.

The novel is about a 12-year-old orphan who lives in the walls of a Paris train station in 1930 and a mystery involving the boy, his late father, and a robot, the article says.

Logan's most recent work includes Sweeney Todd, a film version of the Stephen Sondheim musical starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen, with Tim Burton directing. (The Advocate)
