A petition is being circulated on the Web calling for Cher to become a Las Vegas mainstay. Following news that Celine Dion's Caesars Palace show would take its final curtain December 15, 2007, a rumor began to circulate that Cher would take the diva's place, headlining a standing show at Caesars' Colosseum theater, but in May it was revealed that Bette Midler would take the spot instead.
Caesars still reports, however, that it is in need of one more headliner for a regular show. At press time about 500 signatures were attached to a petition urging the hotel-casino to hire Cher; organizers are hoping for at least 4,100 signatures, enough to represent the total occupancy of the Colosseum at Caesars.
