Neil Patrick Harris has announced his directorial debut with the premiere of Amanda Rogers's comedy I Am Grock.

The play follows Phoebe Broman, a family therapist, mother, and author. Her wildly successful book promoting uncensored honesty within families has stirred the national media, prompting her to schedule an interview with a national news station. Things get out of hand when her dysfunctional family shows up at her door an hour before the newswoman is set to arrive.

Neil Patrick Harris' theater credentials include Assassins, Proof and Cabaret as well as performances with the Los Angeles company of Rent and a New York Philharmonic production of Sweeney Todd. Harris is best known for acting in the television series How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser, M.D. (The Advocate)
