In an interview with Time magazine, Bruce Willis, the star of the upcoming Live Free or Die Hard, defended Grey's Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington, who was fired for calling costar T.R. Knight a "f****t."
"I hate to think we live in a time when you can get fired from your job because of what you say," said Willis, according to an article posted on Time magazine's Web site. "He didn't punch anyone. I think we'll think differently with hindsight."
Washington recently alleged that Knight used the gay slur controversy to enhance his role on the show and to earn a pay increase from producers. A spokesperson for Washington has said the actor stands behind his remarks. (The Advocate)
