Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball's next project is a vampire drama series starring Anna Paquin. True Blood is slated to begin production for HBO in the fall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is based on Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire book series and takes place in a world where vampires can purchase synthetic blood. The vampires' integration in a sleepy Louisiana town is a cause of great concern to the town's residents.
Both Ball and Paquin have earned Academy Awards for American Beauty and The Piano, respectively.
An airdate for the series premiere has yet to be announced. (The Advocate)
