EW.com's Michael
Ausiello is reporting that Fox has just canceled Do Not
Disturb, the new sitcom from out writer-creator
Abraham Higginbotham. This would make Disturb the
first new show of the fall lineup to be canceled. The
show, about a group of employees at an upscale New York
hotel, featured a gay character played by Jesse Tyler
Ferguson.
Reports Ausiello,
"Sources confirm to me exclusively that the critically
savaged sitcom, starring a slumming Jerry O'Connell and
Niecy Nash, has been axed after three low-rated
episodes. The show's Wednesday time slot will be
filled with repeats of 'Til Death, which
upgrades the network's 9 to 10 p.m. comedy block from
excruciatingly painful to unbearably painful. (And yes, that
is an upgrade, albeit a very slight one.)"
A spokesperson
for Fox would neither confirm nor deny the cancellation to
The Advocate and only said that the show
would indeed be preempted next week. (Corey Scholibo, The
Advocate)
