Here Are the LGBTQ+ Nominess for the 2024 Golden Globes

Matt Bomer on Fellow Travelers; Colman Domingo in Rustin; Bella Ramsey on The Last of Us; Barry Keoghan in Saltburn

Showtime / Netflix / HBO / Amazon MGM Studios

The nominations for the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards are finally here!

Between movies, TV shows, characters, actors, and musicians, we thankfully have plenty of LGBTQ+ representation among the nominees.

A few queer performances and projects were majorly snubbed at the 2024 Golden Globes. However, we do want to hold space and celebrate the LGBTQ-inclusive content that did land a nomination. So, without further ado, let’s get to that list of nominees!

Scroll through to see the LGBTQ+ nominations for the 81st Golden Globe Awards, which is scheduled to air on January 7, 2024 on CBS.

    ‘Maestro’ (Netflix)

Maestro is Bradley Cooper’s second-ever film as a director, following A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga. In the biopic, Cooper plays Leo Bernstein, a bisexual conductor. The 2024 Golden Globes nominated Maestro for “Best Motion Picture – Drama,” and Cooper earned nominations for “Best Director – Motion Picture” and “Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.”

‘All of Us Strangers’ (Searchlight Pictures)

Unfortunately, All of Us Strangers only received one nomination at the 2024 Golden Globes: Andrew Scott’s performance is up for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.”

The 81st Golden Globes have nominated Fantasia Barrino for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” and Danielle Brooks for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture.”

    ‘May December’ (Netflix)

From out gay director Todd Haynes, May December has been nominated for “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.” Yes, we know what you’re thinking: May December being classified as a “Musical or Comedy” at the Golden Globes is the most chaotic thing since The Martian also competed in those categories a few years ago.

    ‘Barbie’ (Warner Bros Pictures)

The queer-inclusive Barbie movie was the most-nominated film of the year at the 2024 Golden Globes. The film itself was nominated for “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” and “Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.” The soundtrack of Barbie also dominated the “Best Original Song – Motion Picture” category, with a special highlight to Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”

    ‘Dead Ringers’ (Amazon Prime Video)

‘Only Murders in the Building’ (Hulu)

The third season of Only Murders in the Building featured a love connection between Mabel (Selena Gomez) and Alice (Cara Delevingne). Golden Globes nominations include “Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical,” as well as Selena Gomez for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical.”

    ‘Ted Lasso’ (Apple TV+)

Over the course of three seasons, Ted Lasso introduced fans to quite a few LGBTQ+ characters. As expected, the final season of the show has been nominated for “Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical.”
