The Rocky Horror Treasury: A Tribute to the Ultimate Cult Classic
Sal Piro, president of the Official Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club for over 35 years, one of early fans who is credited with starting audience participation, and the guy who made the Guinness Book of World Records in 1987 for seeing a movie (Rocky Horror, of course) more than any other person, joined forces with Larry Viezel, director of the New Jersey shadow cast troupe, The Home of Happiness, organizer of international Rocky Horror conventions, and owner of one of the largest Rocky Horror memorabilia collections in the world. The thing on my desk that makes me smile every day is a Funko Pop! vinyl figurine of gay actor Jim Parsons as Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory (and his on-screen gal pal, Amy Farrah Fowler). There's something amazing about knowing that we have action figures (or big-headed vinyl art figures, as you may call these cool Funkos) of actual queer actors or queerish characters (still holding out for trans ones, though). There are dozens of great options, but my vote is for Green Lantern Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory; Dana Scully from The X-Files; Lafayette (pictured at left), Sookie, or Pam from True Blood; Fiona from American Horror Story: Coven; the title character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Vaneloppe from Wreck-It Ralph; and of course, the gang from Arrested Development. $9.99, EntertainmentEarth.com
