Rachel Dratch will star in the comedy Tail! Spin!, a reenactment of the sex scandals that disgraced politicians like former congressman Mark Foley and former senator Larry Craig.

Tail! Spin!, a verbatim reenactment of political sex scandals, will be presented off-Broadway this fall.

Gay playwright Mario Correa's comedy, which premiered as part of the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival, is comprised of the scandalous words written and spoken by former Florida congressman Mark Foley and former Idaho senator Larry Craig, as well as former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford and former New York congressman Anthony Wiener.

Foley resigned and came out publicly as gay in 2006 after sending sexually explicit messages to young male congressional pages. Craig retired following his 2007 arrest for disorderly conduct after he was accused of soliciting sex from an undercover officer in an airport restroom.

Directed by Tony nominee Dan Knechtges, Tail! Spin! will play a limited 10-week engagement beginning September 18 and opening October 1 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project.

"Politics is dirty -- but politicians are dirtier," read press notes about the production. "The truth is laid hysterically bare in Tail! Spin!, a wildly inventive new comedy drawn verbatim from the leaked e-mails, raunchy texts and tell-tale tweets that brought down politicians Mark ("Appalachian Trail") Sanford, Larry ("Wide Stance") Craig, Anthony ("I Was Hacked") Weiner, and Mark ("Underage Page") Foley. Using only the actual words of the disgraced politicians, their paramours, and the skeptical media they tried so hard to spin, Tail! Spin! winningly weaves an intricate, overlapping narrative of the power of sex -- and the sex lives of the powerful."

Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch, who starred in the original GLAAD Media Award-nominated staging, will reprise her multiple roles as "Wives, Tails, Beards and Barbara Walters." Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Dratch's New York theater credits include Celebrity Autobiography and Love's Labour's Lost. Her comic memoir, Girl Walks Into a Bar, was published in 2012.
