Hillary Clinton closed out the Democratic National Convention with an inclusive, progressive, warm, and sometimes funny speech. Her speech was filled with inspiring quotes, beautiful promises, jabs at Trump, and balloons. So many balloons. It offered a lot less easy fodder for Twitter’s comedians than Trump’s speech did at the end of the Republican National Convention last week, but luckily, this is a talented bunch. Here are the tweets that went out during and after Hillary’s speech that had us rolling in the (political) aisles.
Hillary Clinton and Science, BFFs!!!
[watching Hillary speak] science: i believe in u too, girl.... [wipes away tear]

ICYMI:
FOR THE CHEAP SEATS: SYSTEMIC RACISM WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AT A NATIONAL NOMINATING CONVENTION AS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

We cannot fault her for this.
Hillary's speech seemed sincere until I realized the whole thing was a ploy to get Hamilton tickets. #DemConvention #DemsInPhilly

It must feel amazing to be quoted by the future president of the United States.
I'm with her.#AndShesBeenListeningToDiscTwo!

But I only watch Ben Affleck interviews ironically!
The Bernie Bros split up into two groups after the DNC, half went to watch The Godfather and half went to watch Ben Affleck interviews.

We are already claiming Hillary’s funniest moment for our team.
Some gay staff write is SO proud of that ".... And I do mean odd" Hillary line right now.

Comedian Cameron Esposito didn’t even worry about jokes; she just got all inspirational.
We're more equal than we've ever been which means we're stronger than we've ever been.
And that's good: we have so much more work to do.— Cameron Esposito (@cameronesposito) July 29, 2016
I mean, wouldn’t you pay to see that, though?
They should charge money for the debates. I'm not even kidding. Hillary will devour this idiot like a Saw trap.

I wish we could fast-forward to this moment.
Trump's biggest debate fear is that @HillaryClinton will make up an acronym for a non-existant agency & DJT will respond thinking it's real

We enjoy watching this gif as much as Hillary enjoys watching fireworks.
Hillary's reaction to fireworks is everything, America. https://t.co/PxP3q78SwQ #DemsinPhilly pic.twitter.com/xO48B81M0F

Our Hillary senses are tingling!
Hillary Clinton’s speech tonight was like that scene where Spider-Man fights back against the high school bully and then becomes President.

Even conservative tweeters are starting to catch on.
Well done, @realDonaldTrump. You made Democrats a party of sunny patriotism and values.
You sure @billclinton didn't ask you to run?— Ron Fournier (@ron_fournier) July 29, 2016
As Miranda said, “I want to enjoy my success, not apologize for it.”
God damn, Hillary makes me proud to identify as a Miranda.

Hopefully Hillary’s enjoying hers tonight after a phenomenal convention.
