Weeks after The New York Times published its first story on AIDS, in the summer of 1981, a group of men gathered in Larry Kramer's living room to discuss the "gay cancer." With no one else helping, the group formed the Gay Men's Health Crisis and changed history. Now, 35 years later, the organization is still saving lives.
