Cuts in federal funds may result in program reductions at Montana's Yellowstone AIDS Project. Director Becky Ketterling says YAP will receive about $65,000 this year--a 13% cut from 2004. The state's procurement bureau received requests from 30 agencies for about $1.5 million; however, it had only about $790,000 to hand out, according to Penny Moon, its senior contracts officer. YAP will likely lay off one employee and scale back prevention efforts, Ketterling says. (AP)
