The Portland, Ore.-based Cascade AIDS Project has named Leah Blackburn as the agency's new director of development and community education. Blackburn comes to CAP from Oregon Health and Science University, where she managed operations and business development for the university's Clinical Outcomes Research Initiative and sat on two steering committees for National Institutes of Health grants. "Leah has an exceptional combination of scientific knowledge, talent for clear communication, and business sense," says CAP executive director Jean Ann Van Krevelen in a press statement. "As we work on the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS, she's a valuable addition to our team." (The Advocate)
