David's
House Compassion, an AIDS service agency in Toledo, Ohio,
plagued with financial problems since losing a
$150,000 grant in 2004, has been taken over by the
AIDS Resource Center Ohio, reports The [Toledo]
Blade. DHC's operations, which include
case management, financial assistance, nutrition
services, and medical assistance, are now available through
ARC's downtown Toledo office. ARC will continue to
offer housing and utilities assistance.
"In a different
environment we would have been able to raise enough
money to have a completely local organization, but that's
not the environment we live in," David Arnold, DHC's
board president, told The Blade. "This is the best
opportunity for our clients to have a stable home."
