In a time when the rainbow flag is being co-opted by corporations to sell everything from tennis shoes to razors, it is nice to see the flag being used again to represent the compassion and power of the LGBQT community.
The "Thrown Out Flag" is an initiative to bring awareness to the staggering fact that 40% of teens who come out to their parents are thrown out of their homes. Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness and Calvary-St. George's Parish in Chelsea created the "Thrown Out Flag" campaign in support of the church's Out Not Down non-profit outreach program that helps LGBTQ homeless youth find the resources they need, like housing, counseling, and healthcare.
