Adele has shared the video for "Hello," the sublime first single off her upcoming album 25, which we now know will be available November 20.
"Hello" is the singer's first new music in three years since the release of 2012's James Bond theme song "Skyfall."
In a BBC interview Thursday, the singer described the brooding ballad with its soaring choruses as "very intimate."
The black-and-white video, shot in Montreal by renowned director Xavier Dolan, packs drama with Adele doing a bit of acting in her role, opposite The Wire's Tristan Wilds. The video tells the story of their disintegrating relationship. It's presumably set in the past, what with everyone using flip phones.
On Thursday the singer also spoke with Apple radio DJ Zane Lowe. (The interview re-airs today at noon ET). During their talk, Adele said she was proud of her performance in "Hello."
"[Dolan] had me crying and acting," she said. "I'm really, really proud of it. It's not like a groundbreaking video in terms of effects and dance moves, but it's my best video and I'm so proud of it."
