Neon Trees lead singer Tyler Glenn was one of the presenters last week at the International Affirmation Conference held in Provo, Utah.
The conference, which was attended by more than 500 people, brought together LGBT Mormons and their supporters.
In the video, Glenn lamented that he felt "abnormal" for many years as a young man. "I don't want you to feel like you are abnormal," he said. "None of you are abnormal." A person's sexuality shouldn't be cause for pain or suicide, he said, "and it definitely shouldn't break up a family."
Glenn also sang several songs from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' hymn book at the event. Hear his stirring rendition of "Where Can I Turn for Peace" in the video below.
