Punks creator Patrik-Ian Polk developing black gay series
Punks writer-director-producer Patrik-Ian Polk has begun production on Noah's Arc, a new series that will focus on the lives of four black gay men living in Los Angeles. "After the recent boom in gay television with Queer Eye, Boy Meets Boy, Will & Grace, Queer As Folk, I really noticed the complete unwillingness of producers to feature positive black gay and lesbian characters in television and film," said Polk in a statement. "So rather than sitting around feeling bitter and neglected, I decided to create a platform for these stories to be told." The series is set for a summer debut, according to a press release, although no announcement has been made regarding on what outlet the show would be broadcast.
