Elton John tops U.K. singles charts with Tupac Shakur duet
American rapper 2Pac topped the British music charts Sunday with "Ghetto Gospel" almost nine years after he died, the Official UK Charts Company said. The reworked single, which also features Elton John, entered in first place, finally displacing the Crazy Frog mobile phone ring tone, which held the top spot for four weeks.
Ex-British Army officer James Blunt dropped into third place in the charts with "You're Beautiful," while R&B singer Bobby Valentino entered in fourth place with "Slow Down." Dance track "Roc Ya Body" by MVP was another new entry, in at fifth place, one ahead of British DJ team Audio Bullys and their remix of Nancy Sinatra's "Shot You Down." Missy Elliott entered the charts in seventh place with "Lose Control," while cartoon band Gorillaz were in eighth with "Feel Good Inc." Another new entry, "Hard To Beat" by Hard-Fi, was in the ninth spot, and 50 Cent rounded out the top 10 with "Just a Lil Bit." (Reuters)
