       West Hollywood,
            Calif., council member John Duran was sworn in
            Monday to the post of mayor. Jeffery Prang officially took
            the spot as       mayor pro tempore the same day. Duran, who
            was first elected to the city       council in 2001, has
            worked on several community boards and projects for
            the city. Prang has been an active community leader,
            specifically in       recreation, gay rights, and health.
