Los Angeles's Hammer Museum will host "Extraordinary Exhibitions: Broadsides from the Collection of Ricky Jay," which will feature more than 80 examples of 17th-. 18th-, and 19th-century advertising sheets known popularly as broadsides. Jay's holdings constitute one of the most unusual collections of broadsides in the world; the majority of the pieces are thought to be unique.
The exhibition will be on view at the Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., from August 26 to November 25. Admission is free. For more information call (310) 443-7000 or visit the Hammer Museum online.
