Subways and buses in New York City will soon display portraits of gay and lesbian seniors. According to an article in Newsday, the Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders organization spent $350,000 on the campaign, which features the slogan, "There's no expiration date on a full, active life."

The group's executive director, Michael Adams, told the paper that older LGBT people are "invisible" in our society. Gregory Terry, 61, agreed. He hopes that the ads will show people that gay seniors aren't an "oddity."

The ads will coincide with a conference that Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders is cosponsoring with the American Association of Retired Persons this week to address the unique challenges facing the population of aging LGBT people. (The Advocate)
