The aptly titled film The Big Gay Musical will hit the film festival circuit this summer. Now, musical rights have been picked up by Embrem Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter announced on Tuesday.
The story follows Paul and Eddie, starring in a meta-musical titled Adam and Steve Just the Way God Made 'Em. Meanwhile, Paul abandons his search for the ideal mate and Eddie navigates his sexuality and faith. Paul will be played in the musical by Daniel Robinson ( Hairspray, Oklahoma ), and Eddie will be played by Joey Dudding ( A Chorus Line, La Cage aux Folles ).
Director-producer Fred Caruso, who is working with Embrem CEO Casper Andreas, said the soundtrack will be released this summer. The company will also release the film to theaters in the United States.
